The Apple Real Estate Investment Trust Companies include Apple REIT Seven, Inc., Apple REIT Eight, Inc. and Apple REIT Nine, Inc. Formed by Glade M. Knight, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, the REITs focus on the acquisition and ownership of high quality income-producing real estate and are headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. Mr. Knight also formed: Apple Hospitality Two, Inc., which was sold to an affiliate of ING Clarion on May 23, 2007; Apple Hospitality Five, Inc., which was sold to Inland American Real Estate Trust, Inc. on October 5, 2007; and Apple REIT Six, Inc., which was sold to BRE Select Hotels Corp on May 14, 2013.
